Description
One of the coolest pieces we’ve seen – Closely associated near perfect Nephrolenellus geniculatus trilobites. The larger of the two specimens measures 2.6 cm, a literal giant for this normally diminutive species. Both trilobites are nicely inflated, featuring long macro pleural spines, bulbous glabella and each has the highly sought after opistothorax (secondary thorax). The larger specimen has the longest opistothorax we’ve ever seen on this species – 35 segments – 13 more than the species desciption – and the tiny button-like pygidium is the final segment (we’ve never seen the pygidium on this species). The trilobites are situated on a nice color banded matrix featuring dendrites. One of a kind specimen!
