Description
One the oldest complete trilobites ever found in North America, and this particular specimen is perhaps the nicest single specimen we’ve seen! This Eofallotaspis is quite large relatively speaking, at 3.6cm. It also differs greatly from other Eofallotaspis in nearby outcrops as it is found sporting a small axial spine, likely emerging from the last segment before the button-like pygidium.
Good specimens are very difficult to obtain, with exceptional pieces like this very rare. Outstanding display specimen!
Further notes: “Archaeaspis macropleuron” is often used incorrectly on these Eofallotaspis sp. specimens. To avoid this confusion, please refer to the original 2002 Journal Paleontology describes and figures Archaeaspis (last photo) as a considerably different trilobite.
