Description
One of a kind red Isoxys sp. with exceptional preservation from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This stunning piece comes from the Wheeler Shale and is roughly time equivalent to the Burgess Shale, hence the two units share many or similar species. This 2.8 cm example is extremely well preserved in an iron/carbonaceous film, showing a bulbous eye, a faint body at the rear, and faint appendage traces through the middle of the bivalve carapace. The faint features are more easily seen in the Blue UV photo. A small Bolaspidella housensis trilobite sits below. Epic Specimen!
