Description

This grasping appendage belongs to an undetermined Anomalocaris or other member of the Anomalocarididae family. These enigmatic grasping appendages are often difficult to identify to species or genus. ย The low preservation potential for the radiodont group in general means fossilization of any of these creatures or their pieces and parts are exceptionally rare. ย  This appendage appears closest to a classic Anomalocaris grasping appendage. ย Radiodonts are found throughout the suite of Middle Cambrian Utah rocks, with an ever expanding list of newly identified genera. ย This is a highly desirable specimen, preserved in red, alongside an Asaphiscus trilobite cranidia and other trilobite parts.
