A perfect and colorful 4 cm specimen of the highly sought after Olenellus chiefensis from the classic Pioche Shales near Pioche, Nevada. This is an outstanding example of the species featuring nice color, likely borrowed from nearby iron bands on the plate just above the trilobite. This specimen is clean and crisp, in a lustrous iron-orange color in textbook pose. The telson or tail spine is extremely long on this specimen. One is hard pressed to find a more perfect example of this species.
