Description
Likely the oldest complete trilobite one can add to their collection! This large (for the genus) 3.2 cm Eofallotaspis is an outstanding example and is complete with a highly detailed pygidium. In many cases the thorax on this genus tends to roll under or disarticulate a few segments before the pygidium. This specimen has retained some original shell material on the right side. Eofallotaspis appears in the base of the Fallotaspis Zone of the Campito Formation in Nevada. Only a few scarce pieces and parts precede this genus in the rocks beneath. Good specimens are very difficult to obtain, with exceptional pieces like this very rare. Outstanding display specimen!
