Description
The geological forces of over 500 million combined to produce this stunning piece. A 4.4 cm Olenellus gilberti situated on a plate with a metallic “blue hue”. The trilobite is perfect with textbook anatomy, including an extra long telson (tail spine). The blue color baleen across the surface of the rock can be seen in most lighting conditions. The color is likely due to high amounts of iron and aluminum in the Combined Metals Member rocks. Pieces of Olenellus terminatus also dot the plate along with linear growths of iron/manganese dendrites. Awesome specimen!
