Description

The classic, textbook dorsal pyritized Triarthrus eatoni we all grew up reading about it. ย These specimens from the historic rock layers of Central New York evoke their previous unattainable status from 25 years ago. ย This 1cm specimen is near perfect, lying in a lateral position with legs extending from one side of the thorax. ย Most Triarthrus specimens are found in lateral position due to the soft nature of their exoskeleton. ย The plate also features a likely small sponge next to the trilobite, and several very vividly pyritized graptolites (Climacograptus). ย

Outstanding display piece.
