Description
The classic, textbook dorsal pyritized Triarthrus eatoni we all grew up reading about it. These specimens from the historic rock layers of Central New York evoke their previous unattainable status from 25 years ago. This 1cm specimen is near perfect, lying in a lateral position with legs extending from one side of the thorax. Most Triarthrus specimens are found in lateral position due to the soft nature of their exoskeleton. The plate also features a likely small sponge next to the trilobite, and several very vividly pyritized graptolites (Climacograptus).
