Description
Beautiful and very aesthetic 3.6 cm Olenellus fowleri situated on a plate with plant-like dendrite crystal growths. This unusual specimen differs from the typical O. fowleri in its extremely long macro pleural spines and extra-long telson. This species is rarely found complete, but does occur across a large region in the Great Basin of the United States. This specimen comes from the Delamar exposures, spanning some 50 miles across remote ranges. Occasionally some regional variation in these species occurs. This specimen is perfect with a complete opistothrax (secondary thorax).
