Description
An absolutely perfect example of the highly sought after Olenellus fowleri. Amongst the earliest of trilobites from the Lower Cambrian, this 3.9 cm example is centered on stunning yellow-green and light purple matrix, featuring natural dendrites and bursts of iron colored mineral deposits. The trilobite is lavender in color and very crisp, showing the vein-like vascular system in the broad cephalon as well as having a perfect and complete opistothorax (secondary thorax). The opistothorax terminates with its last segment being a tiny node which may be translated as the pygidium, a feature rarely seen even on complete specimens. A truly epic example of this beautiful species!
