This example of Rhenocystis latipedunculata is one of the best examples we’ve seen, rivaling the specimen featured in the definitve book on the Hunsruck Slate “Visions of a Vanished World” by Kuhl & Briggs (2012, Yale University Press). Most of the localities producing Hunsruck material have long been closed or have become unproductive. Premium specimens have become very hard to come by.
