Description
One of finest Olenellus chiefensis specimens weโve ever seen. This 5.5 cm example sits on beautiful purple and magenta matrix. These colors are born from intense metamorphic processes like heat and pressure, working on included minerals to express. This specimen was collected over 2 decades ago near the mining ghost town of Delamar, Nevada. Olenellus chiefensis is known for its odd elongated cephalon and its narrow occurrence in time, appearing at the very end of the Olenellid triobites reign, marking the end of the Lower Cambrian. This specimen is perfect, including a shorter, mis-grown macro pleural as a nice genetic anomaly addition. Specimens like this one are one off, and cannot be acquired again. Stunning piece!
