Very large 10.5 cm (4.15 inches) Nevadia weeksi trilobite with complete opistothorax. Nevadia of this size and quality are extremely rare and highly sought after, with this specimen easily being one of the finest examples of the species. Nevadia are one of the earliest trilobites, appearing in the 3rd stage of the Lower Cambrian (520 million years ago) on the southern coast of the Laurentian craton. The species is now primarily known from remote mountains of western Nevada on the western most fringes of the Great Basin.
