Description
One of the oldest complete trilobites available from North America. Measuring 6mm, his is the only juvenile of this species we’ve seen. ย It cannot be stressed how old these trilobites are. ย This trilobite appeared around 520 million years ago, laying the foundation for what would blossom into 20,000+ species and over 200 million years of survival. ย It is literally one of the first trilobites.
Excellent display specimen.
Further notes: ย “Archaeaspis macropleuron” is often used incorrectly on these Eofallotaspis sp. specimens. ย To avoid this confusion, please refer to the original 2002 Journal Paleontology describes and figures Archaeaspis (last photo) as a considerably different trilobite. ย
