Rarely seen Olenellus nevadensis OUT OF STOCK

A nearly perfect Olenellus nevadensis from the Lower Cambrian of the Great Basin.  This attractive specimen measures 4.6 cm and was found in the early 2000’s.  O. nevadensis occurs with the Bristolia fauna and is much older than its later cousins O. gilberti and O. fowleri.  The species is notable for its orbital symmetry of the genal and macro pleural spines.  Each offer complimenting curving angles that when combined form a near perfect elongate ellipse.  This shape is likely telling of swift currents the trilobite navigated in life.  This species is rarely seen in this condition, with even partial specimens being rare.
