Description
A beautiful 4.6 cm Olenellus gilberti trilobite situated on an attractive chunk of Lower Cambrian rock from the high desert. This specimen is incredible in person! The trilobite is absolutely perfect, featuring an attractive long telson (tail spine) the species is so well known for. The matrix has bursts of iron/manganese dendritic crystal growths appearing almost like ink blots across the right side of the plate. An orange field of likely oxidized iron on the left side of the plate has lent its color to the trilobite. Awesome piece!
