Description
A stunning colorful specimen of Eokochaspis with preserved antennae and leg evidence. This specimen has two clear antennae extending from the front of the cephlon. Walking appendages are evident peeking through the cephalon and thorax. Soft tissue preservation in trilobites is extremely rare making this specimen significant.
Eokochaspis is arguably the first dominant genus of Ptychoparid trilobite to appear in the early-most Middle Cambrian just above the end of the Lower Cambrian olenellid extinction boundary.
